Candlewood Lake Light Parade 2020

UPDATE: As of 9/11/2020 the Candlewood Lake Light Parade has been canceled by DEEP because of concerns of COVID. The Candlewood Lake Life boat will be out celebrating anyway on September 18!

On Friday, August 7, 2020, (rain date August 8th) New Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the annual Candlewood Lake Illuminated Boat Parade 2020. A myriad of boats, decked out in colorful lights, will fill Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield. There were 35 boats in last year’s parade and one participant said it felt like “a Disney parade.”

This year the parade route will be reversed. Boats will line up at Candlewood Isle and the parade will end at Spear Point. Anyone (including businesses) can participate in this event. The parade will start at dusk. To have your boat in the parade, contact the New Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department at 203-312-5633. Where Can I View the Parade?

The best place to view the parade is always from the water. However, for our friends without sea legs, New Fairfield Town Park will be open (for residents only with possible capacity restrictions due to Covid-19) to view the event. New Fairfield Parks and Rec will update their Facebook Page and their website with updated information.

Can I Participate in the Parade?

Everyone is encouraged to participate! The more boats, the better! You can register your boat for the Candlewood Lake Light Parade 2020 by contacting the New Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department at 203.312.5633

  1. Will the boat parade come south from Candlewood Isle clubhouse toward the causeway and then turn toward the town park?
